About Me
My name is Poppy Awela. I love all things art. if I’m not creating something, I’m in a forest
foraging for mushrooms or researching them. I've been called an‘over-accessorizor’ and a maximalist, which I'm proud of. But I can never find anything in my room.
I completed High School in Tasmania in 2025, and am currently taking a gap year before starting Uni - studying Arts - in 2027. I did a Level 2 and Level 3 visual art course at Elizabeth College (EC) over the last two years. I have also completed an Object Design unit at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) as part of the UniversityConnections Program.
Click this link if you have a laptop or desktop - you can view my portfolio with links to my art from UTAS and EC including two major installations, Wallaby and Voyage dans la Lune. You will also find links to my outlearning experiences, small business Awela, autobiographical artworks and some of my other ongoing projects. Finally, I have included a ‘mushrooms’ page which summarises my research, reading and field experience, as well my mushroom related art.
(Unfortunately you can't view this if you have a mobile - sorry).
